We are crowdsourcing information about the crowdedness and inventory of grocery stores in Pittsburgh. We hope this data will help the public to better adhere to social distancing guidelines in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. This site is a work in progress so please check back often for new features! We would also love to hear your feedback!
This project is part of the PittSmartLiving project. Please visit our website for more information.
Store crowding data is supplied by the Google Place API. The reported crowding levels are a proportion to the most crowded times. For example, a score of 50 means there are half the number of people compared to the most crowded time.
Inventory data is collected through our survey. As this data is crowdsourced, we make no guarantees on the accuracy of the data. Please fill out our survey each time you go to the store, in order to provide this useful information to your neighbors!
